How to Find Alight Motion Presets on TikTok
TikTok is where most Alight Motion presets are shared, but the download link is rarely where you expect it. This guide shows how to use the free AM Preset Finder to pull every preset link out of any TikTok video, and what to do when a video hides its links.
Why TikTok preset links are hard to find
Preset creators rarely put the download link in the caption alone. It often sits in the creator's bio, in a pinned comment, or buried in a reply thread, and it is sometimes spelled out to slip past filters.
So finding the preset usually means reading everything on the video page — which is exactly what the AM Preset Finder automates.
- The video description, including the first line
- The creator's bio and profile
- A pinned or top comment
- Replies deeper inside a comment thread
Step 1 — Copy the TikTok video link
Open the video in TikTok and copy its link. The finder accepts the full URL, a short share link (vm.tiktok.com or vt.tiktok.com), or a bare numeric video ID.
- In the app: tap Share, then Copy link
- On the web: copy the URL from the address bar
- Short vm.tiktok.com and vt.tiktok.com links work too
Step 2 — Paste it into the Preset Finder
Open the AM Preset Finder, paste the link into the search field and press Find preset. The tool runs in your browser and scans the video for you — there is nothing to install and no account is required.
Step 3 — Work through the preset links
The finder returns every AM link, XML and Drive file it finds, de-duplicated into one list. Each result shows where it came from — the description, the bio, a comment or a reply — so you can tell which one the creator actually intended.
Tap an AM link to open it in Alight Motion, or download the XML file to keep an offline copy. If the preset ships with audio, grab the audio file as well.
What the finder scans
The finder checks four places on every video, in order, and stops once it has found enough to show you.
- The video description
- The creator's bio, when it is available
- The comments
- The replies inside those comments
When the finder finds nothing
Some videos genuinely have no preset link, and a creator's bio is not always reachable. If the list comes back empty, try these:
- Check the video is the original rather than a repost that dropped the caption
- Look through the creator's other videos — the preset is often linked there instead
- Read the pinned comment, which is usually where the link lives
- Ask in the comments or open the creator's bio link directly
Frequently asked questions
- Is the TikTok preset finder free?
- Yes. The AM Preset Finder is completely free, needs no signup and runs in your browser — all you need is a TikTok video link.
- Can I use it with a TikTok share link?
- Yes. It accepts full TikTok links, short vm.tiktok.com and vt.tiktok.com share links, and bare numeric video IDs.
- Why does the preset link not work in Alight Motion?
- AM links can expire or need the app installed first. Copy the link and paste it inside Alight Motion itself, or use the XML file on the same preset instead.
- Does the finder work if the preset only appears on screen?
- No. The finder reads text — the caption, bio, comments and replies — so it cannot detect a preset that is only shown visually without a link.
